Differin is an anti-acne cream that contains adapalene as its chief ingredient. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Differin is absorbed into the body in very small amounts and only affects the surface of the skin. It works on the spots, pimples and blackheads by reducing their number and occurrence. This white, shiny cream relieves the skin from blackheads, spots and pimples. It works by reducing the soreness and irritation of the skin. In acne conditions, the pores of the skin become blocked and the sebum (natural oil) starts accumulating on the skin. The bacteria on the skin feeds on this sebum which inflames the sebaceous glands, leading to pimples and blackheads. Differin cream helps to unblock the pores and sebaceous glands so that the accumulated sebum can escape. This reduces the formation of blackheads and spots. It also cures irritation and soreness associated with the acne. Storing Differin at a temperature above 25 degree Celsius or at freezing temperature may diminish its effectiveness. Therefore, it should always be stored below the specified temperature. Keep the cream out of sight and reach of children. Seek immediate medical advice in case of accidental swallowing.
