Dermovate ointment contains the active ingredient clobetasol propionate, which is a topical corticosteroid, used for reducing inflammation. Skin inflammation may occur as a result of an allergic reaction or irritation, caused by the immune system releasing substances that make the affected area red, swollen, itchy and painful. Clobetasol works by acting inside the skin cells to decrease the release of these inflammatory substances, reducing swelling and redness. Clobetasol propionate is very potent to treat severe conditions.

The children should be treated it with for five days and continuously monitored. Do tell the doctor about the other medications that you have taken or are using, as it can affect the working on this medication.
