Bisoprolol

The active ingredient in Bisoprolol tablets is bisoprolol fumarate. This medicine belongs to a class called beta-blockers. Bisoprolol tablets are used in various dosages to treat heart failure, generally in combination with other medicines. Heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to adequately pump the blood around the body. Bisoprolol reduces the heart rate and the pumping of blood is made more efficient throughout the body. The dosage depends on the condition being treated and any other health issues you may have. Bisoprolol is also used to treat high blood pressure and angina pectoris.

For heart failure, other medicines (such as an ACE inhibitor, a diuretic and digoxin) may be used in conjunction with bisoprolol. Dosage should not exceed 10 mg per day if you have a kidney disorder or liver disease.

If a dose is missed, take it immediately when you remember it. If it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the dose missed.

Bisoprolol fumarate is the active ingredient in these tablets and comes under the group of medicines called beta-blockers. Beta blockers act by blocking the actions of some natural chemicals in the body and hence their action on the heart and blood vessels. It reduces the amount of work needed to be done by the heart by reducing the amount of blood it has to pump. Therefore, they can be used for the treatment of chest pain, high blood pressure and following a heart attack to prevent another one occurring. It slows down the heart and reduces its workload. Lowering high blood pressure can help in the prevention of strokes, heart attacks and kidney disorders.
