Telfast contains fexofenadine hydrochloride, an antihistamine which is used to relieve symptoms associated with hay fever, such as an itchy, blocked or a runny nose and watery, itchy and red eyes. It can be used in children above 12 years, adults and the elderly for controlling the symptoms of hay fever, also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Telfast contains an antihistamine (fexofenadine hydrochloride) which is used in patients including children above 12 years, adults and the elderly to relieve symptoms which occur with hay fever, also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Do not take Telfast if you are allergic to Telfast or any ingredient contained in the product. If you are currently undergoing a treatment for indigestion with remedies containing aluminum or magnesium, inform your doctor about it. It is recommended to take a gap of 2 hours after taking your indigestion remedy as these can interfere with the absorption of Telfast.

Telfast is not suggested for lactating women and pregnant women. Always talk to your doctor before taking Telfast.

Telfast may cause some side effects although these side effects may not be seen in everybody.

Stop using this medicine and inform your doctor immediately when you experience a severe allergic reaction, characterized by swelling of the face/lips/tongue, difficulty in breathing and swallowing.

Always inform your doctor if you notice any of the common side effects such as a headache, nausea, dizziness and drowsiness, fatigue or tiredness.

Other uncommon side effects of Telfast are:
- Sleep disorders including Insomnia
- Nightmares
- Nervousness
- Skin rash or itching
- Diarrhea
- Hives
- Serious allergic reaction with chest tightness, swelling of the face, throat, tongue or lips, and flushing and difficulty in breathing.

You should take Telfast as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine is usually taken before a meal. A dose of 120 mg daily is recommended for adults (including children above 12 years).

If you take more than the prescribed number of tablets, you should tell your doctor immediately. You may experience some symptoms if you have taken an overdose of Telfast, such as dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth and drowsiness.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose. Take the next dose at the time as prescribed by your doctor. Always inform your doctor when you plan to stop Telfast before the course is finished.

Do not take Telfast after its date of expiry has crossed. It does not require any special storage condition. Take help from your doctor or pharmacist when you plan to discard the unused medicine.
